Magnetic Marketing from Blogs: They Bring Business to You

From other posts, you know I’m producing a blogging bootcamp with JB Brathwaite where we’ll teach attendees how to create a WordPress blog, optimize it for search engines, and show how that could lead to national publicity from major media. You may be wondering why I blog. First, search engines love them, and second, I love sharing my knowledge with busy people. My blog drives traffic to my Website, including journalists looking for my expertise, meeting planners looking for the perfect speaker, and potential clients looking for help. And if you’re employed, underemployed, or not employed, can’t you see how this will help you too?

This is happening for me and here’s an example.

Recently, I wrote a post in my other blog, SUITE Minute, on the 7 Must-Have Gadgets I Use to Make Work Easier. About two weeks later, the PR company for the manufacturer of one of the products saw my post and contacted me (they probably have Google Alerts set up and a link to my post came right to their email).

From that one post, I just signed on with one of the top-rated PR agencies in the country to write articles similar to my post. They will pitch article placement and pay me to write. It’s a sweet deal. I get to promote what I know and believe in, and get paid to do it, all in my pajamas.

Now, do you think I would have been able to do this if I’d contacted this huge/well-known PR agency on my own? Heck no! I dig this magnetic marketing where people come to you…it’s so much better than beating the bushes.
